The starting point of this work was the exploration and discourse of the historic and architectural development of the city Frankfurt am Main. Layers of historic and current events translate into real as well as fictitious buildings. They inspire an elementary and natural notion of the city and a desire to metaphorically give the it a voice.
The river Main flows through Frankfurt and can be understood as the city’s first and main protagonist. A bookmark is held over the river. In the photograph, the river appears to be a book. With this artistic intervention, the Main’s knowledge/perspective becomes – in a figurative sense – readable.
